Before anything else, I am another human being.
I’m Laura Marks. I am calm, thoughtful and genuinely interested in understanding the person in front of me—not fitting them into a theory or deciding who they are.

A little about me
I want you to feel that I am getting to know you, not simply forming an idea of you from a distance.
Choosing a counsellor is personal. Qualifications and training matter, but you also need some sense of the person you may be trusting with parts of your life.
I am a counsellor in training, currently preparing to open Lauruna Counselling in Summer 2027. Alongside my counselling training, I study Psychology with Counselling and continue learning through placement work, supervision and further professional development.
My interest in counselling comes from more than study. I know how powerful it can be to feel genuinely heard and taken seriously, particularly when you have spent a long time questioning yourself or trying to meet other people's expectations.
That has shaped the kind of counsellor I want to be. I don't want to decide who you are from a diagnosis, behaviour or pattern. I would rather stay curious, get to know you and understand your experience from where you stand.
Finding the right counsellor is not about choosing the person who sounds perfect on paper. What matters is whether you feel comfortable enough with them to gradually be more yourself.
